A 17 year-old college girl who struggles to find her place among society has a strong passion and ambition for magic, as well as finding it. Despite her personal struggles involving her home life and her internal struggles of finding someone who will genuinely care about her, her ambition to prove that magic exists never died down. But another ambition of hers stuck deep: finding out about what happened to her father. She barely had any memories of him, and never heard anything about him. The missing presence in her memory of her father also connected back to her difficulty to fit in, since she felt that there was another place where she belonged, but wasn't sure where, and was determined to figure it out. But one small accidental step forward changed her entire reality, and even gave her the answers she had been searching for. But would she be satisfied with what she had uncovered?

Riley Renner was supposed to spend the weekend teaching teenagers how to survive in the woods. Instead, she wakes in a world ruled by beastmen. In this land, females are treasured, fought over, and marked by the males they choose to mate with. Wolves walk beside towering tigers, serpents lurk in the shadows of ancient tribes, and powerful males bear the stripes that define their strength. But Riley is different. She smells of no beast. Knows none of their customs. And worst of all for the males around her-she treats them with a kindness they have never known.
