River is a 20 year old Star Fleet Medical Officer who was assigned to watch over the frozen bodies of the genetically engineered crew of the Botany Bay after the attack on London and the murder of Admiral Marcus. Khan was never caught after killing Marcus and crashing to earth. But that was all about to change when River unexpectedly ran into Khan and was taken as prisoner.
