After The End

Anur Rhyzan has spent the past four years running from the Empire that took his parents, trying to keep his younger siblings safe. Thanks to a small group of rebels led by the hero Agraine, that Empire is now in shambles. Anur still has no leads on his parents' whereabouts, or if they're even alive. No leads except for one: Letari, Agraine's second in command. They're in a near-death coma after the devastating final battle, and it's taking every bit of healing magic Anur has to keep them stable. He can only hope that they'll know something about his parents' arrest when they wake up. If they wake up.

Letari Korshas is alive. Their magic is gone, their face is ravaged with scars, but they are definitely alive. Now, they have to rebuild their life in the aftermath of a mid-battle decision they didn't expect to survive. Problem is, their life was pretty terrible to begin with. Trauma from their years as a child mage soldier, a messy situationship with their former enemy turned current leader, and a few war crimes under their belt even after they defected to the good side.
But hey, at least there's the cute healer who saved their life. Anur is kind, fiercely moral, and unfairly gorgeous, everything Letari isn't. And for some reason he treats them like a real person. Like someone who deserves saving.

As they set off to track down Anur's parents, he and Letari will have to reckon with the ghosts of their pasts, the current power vacuum, and their growing feelings for each other. Surviving was one thing, but now they have to heal and live again. It might just be the hardest challenge they've ever faced.
