Between Bellamy Blake and John Murphy, everything is unspoken, and that's what makes it toxic. They circle each other through arguments and long stares, hiding feelings behind sharp words and shoves that last a second too long. Bellamy masks his emotions by surrounding himself with women and staying close to Clarke Griffin, acting like he owns every room he walks into. To Murphy, it looks like Bellamy can't live without Clarke, while he's left feeling like a side character who only exists to clash with him.

Their constant fighting isn't just hate, but also fear. A fear of being seen. A fear of wanting something they don't know how to admit to, so Bellamy stays cruel to keep control, and Murphy stays angry to hide how much it hurts.
