Caught in a web she cannot see and bound by a presence she cannot outrun, Receiver never intended to become prey the moment she stepped into a world that was never meant for her-but in the shadowed depths of Velkarith's domain, nothing is accidental, and nothing is ever released once claimed. Velkarith, known only as the Dark Venom, does not chase, does not rush, and does not make mistakes; every strand of his vast, unseen network exists with purpose, and every life that touches it is judged with cold, deliberate precision. Yet when the trembling threads deliver not a creature of instinct, but a defiant, sharp-tongued woman from another world, his calculated order fractures in a way he does not yet understand-and cannot ignore. She is not fragile. She is not compliant. And despite her blindness, she senses him in ways that unsettle the balance he has never once questioned. As tension coils between captor and captive, curiosity sharpens into something far more dangerous, and control begins to blur into possession. Because in a domain where nothing escapes, the greatest threat is not being caught- It is being chosen.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Only being able to depend on her less than mediocre skills in seeing the future, Mirai sets out to find the girl before the time is up. Little does she know of the trauma the girl has suffered, nor that finding her is only the beginning. ---------- Mature rating due to: smut, violence, suicide (happens in the prologue while POV-character has her back turned), rape (happens in chapter 30 and will be mentions of it afterwards, fade to black, there will NOT be a trigger warning at the beginning of the specific chapter), violent death of babies, some rather bloody scenes, self-harm, extreme guilt. Note that a major part of this story focus on healing from and learning to live with trauma, so though you could potentially read it but skip some specific parts, if you're not comfortable reading something that deals with the listed topics, then this book won't be for you. ---------- This series will contain the following volumes: Volume 1 - Zoe, the witch of innocence (completed) Volume 2 - Crimson, the witch of night (completed) Volume 3 - Morana, the witch of life (completed) Volume 4 - Mirai, the witch of sight (completed) Volume 5 - Danae, the witch of light (ongoing) Volume 6 - Rheseis, the faerie of love
