The Fall of Calvin Field

In the 18th century, the deeply devout English colony of Calvin Field opens its gates to a stranger: Pandora, a non-Christian woman, accompanied by her daughter, Camilia. Their presence quickly disturbs the established order. Suspected of witchcraft, they are deemed unworthy and driven out. Before vanishing into the vast, shadowy forest of New Essex, Pandora swears revenge.

Years pass. The town declines. Seventy percent of the population disappears: hasty departures, unexplained suicides, savage murders, and above all... vanishings in the woods. Trappers, miners, Native tribesmen-no trace remains of the men who once worked at the colony's farthest edges.

As terror spreads and it seems that God Himself has abandoned this land, the leader of the colony commissions an expedition. He calls upon a young student of theology and occultism from Providence. His mission: to uncover the truth, calm the superstitions, or name the guilty, in a region where reality itself trembles, and where the Gate of Hell seems to have opened.
