Elara Hart lives her life by the rule of the straight line. As a competitive mathlete with a "perfect-score" scholarship on the line, she views the world as a series of solvable equations. Then there's Elaine Harper.

Elaine is the girl who colors outside the lines-literally. A free-spirited film student who sees the world in grainy shadows and golden hour light, she has no interest in Elara's rigid calculations. When the two are forced into an unlikely partnership for a high-stakes cross-disciplinary project, their worlds don't just collide-they intersect.

As Elara tries to map out their progress, Elaine begins to show her that the most beautiful parts of life happen in the "negative space" between the points.
