"We need to fix this," Chan said, his voice low and earnest. "We have to. We can't... we can't go on like this."

"I know," Seungmin whispered.

Chan's fingers tightened slightly on his shoulder. "I missed you, Seungmin-ah. I miss my friend."

Seungmin missed him, too. He missed him so much it was a physical ache.

"I missed you too, hyung," he choked out.

After Chan starts dating someone else, Seungmin does what he does best: swallows it down and pretends he's fine. But Chan has never been good at letting him go quietly.

It wasn't supposed to be unrequited. It wasn't supposed to hurt like this.
