When 16 year old Cassandra Shepard, known to her friends as Cassie, is thrown into a whole new life, things turn a little Dark for her. Her and her mother have been on their own for about 12 years now. Her father left them both when she was only a baby and her mother stuck with her and took care of her. Her mother, however, wasn't a saint. By the time Cassie was 14 and could take care of herself on her own, her mother became distant. She would leave Cassie alone for two days sometimes and be out partying with guys she just met. Most of the time they were rich and so Cassie was spoiled. Her mother thought gifts could make up for the lost time she had with Cass. Cassie didn't act spoiled though, she was very down to earth and very shy. She was awkward around most people except for her 5 best friends. Anthony, Cara, Tyler, Candace, and Miranda had always been there for her. She spent most of her time with them anyway. Her mother was always gone so they would always come over to her house and have fun. Most of the time they would go out and party. Cassie's mother has finally found a boyfriend, if you could even call it that. Cassie now has to deal with the constant digs she's receiving from this new guy and her mother is even around less. During this, Cass picks up some bad habits. Her friends are there for her, but could she have found another who would die for her?
