Great Winged Strife

Nine-year-old Ralfinn has spent his short life fueled by his father's stories of Tortuga-a fabled dreamland of peace and plenty. Their journey toward this paradise ends in nightmare when their vessel is intercepted by a ruthless pirate fleet. In the chaos of the raid, Ralfinn witnesses his father's death at the hands of the pirate leader.

Left with nothing but a burning desire for retribution, Ralfinn makes a harrowing choice: he doesn't flee. Instead, he maneuvers his way into the pirate ranks, masking his grief with forced loyalty. To get close enough to strike, the boy must survive the brutal life of a "powder monkey," navigate the treacherous politics of a killer's crew, and ensure he doesn't lose his soul before he takes his revenge.
