Forgotten memories of her past resurface- her Islandian heritage gives her powers, and hers is control over ice. A connection is forged between Aeslin and Leaf, through the most unlikely person; the Protector of the Royal Throne, Auden. ** Complete - EDITING** In a kingdom where magic is forbidden, Selene serves as the King's Assassin, bound to his every command. Though, she has no memory of who she truly is -- only the name the King has told her. In the crowded, suffocating city, she struggles to think clearly, to remember something. But remembering is dangerous; it could make the King angry. And angering the King something she dares not risk. Yet, when Selene begins dreaming of a mysterious man with amber eyes, fragments of her memories begin to return. As her past slowly pieces itself together, she faces the question -- will learning the truth of who she is give her the strength to claim her freedom, or will it spell doom for herself and the kingdom she has come to call home?
