Saint has loved Shin for as long as he can remember. But it was Shin's twin, Pete, who confided in him - the fears, the inferiority he carried beside his captain brother, the ache he believed Shin would never understand. Saint never betrayed that trust. When Pete dies by suicide, everything fractures. Shin is devastated, and when he learns Saint knew how deeply Pete was struggling, grief twists into jealousy, guilt, and blame. Pete chose Saint. Saint understood what Shin didn't. And Saint is still here. Shin tells himself he hates him. He lashes out, cruel and relentless, even wishing in his darkest moments that it had been Saint instead. Loving Saint feels like betrayal, like proof he failed his brother. Saint stays. He absorbs the anger and the guilt, barely holding himself together, because walking away has never felt possible. Until Shin goes too far and Saint finally breaks. Faced with losing him too, Shin is forced to confront the truth: he never hated Saint. He was terrified that loving him in Pete's shadow would make him monstrous for still wanting happiness. This time, Shin is the one who runs after him.
