My childhood nightmare

As a young girl, the narrator spent Saturdays helping my father wash his car. While the driveway was filled with sunshine and soapy water, i was secretly traumatized by the "White House" across the street-a place with drawn curtains where a mysterious figure paced back and forth, day and night, for years.

He keeps watching me.
