Their eyes meet.

It only lasts a second.

Maybe two.

Just long enough for that strange flicker of recognition-the kind where two people realize they exist in the same space at the same time.

Then someone calls his name from down the hallway.

He looks away, turning back toward the group.

And just like that, the moment passes.

Avery exhales quietly, shaking her head a little as she returns to her notes. It's nothing. Just another rehearsal day. She's doing this for the group. For her sister.

Still, for reasons she can't quite explain, the moment lingers in the back of her mind.

Because sometimes the smallest interactions-the ones that last only a few seconds-end up meaning more than anyone expects.
