"Everything will be fine," he tried to assure you with a slight head tilt and a genuinely caring smile. His face was as bright as the sun during midday. You couldn't help but forcefully exhale, almost involuntarily trying to get all your negative feelings to leave through your nostrils.
All you could think about was whether or not he was right. You wanted him to be, but what would that look like? You living with eight demi-gods in the middle of the forest? That's rich! There was no way they were going to let you stay, but there was some part of you, no matter how small that hoped they would.
