Althea Carter never thought she would return.
Michael Robinavitch never left.

Having saved each other's lives early in their careers, Althea Carter and Michael Robinavitch quickly became inseperable. Bonding over their time in Pittsburgh's busiest medical center and rising to the top of their field, the two doctors were an unstoppable force in the trauma bay.

While something always seemed to linger between them, Althea and Robby took care to keep their relationship strictly professional in the workplace. Inevitably, life got in the way, and though families were eventually forged outside the friendship, one doctor could never be found without the other.

For twenty years, this was the standard.

That is, until the Pandemic hit.

When tragedy strikes and the world is shut down, the doctors react in their own ways: Carter shies away from the hospital scene to salvage what is left of her broken family, while Robinavitch pours his heart and soul into his work, trying to fill the void that Althea and his own personal losses left behind.

When fate brings Althea back to the Pitt and buried memories resurface, will the euphoric highs and soul-crushing lows of the ER bring the two doctors back together, or will it push them further apart?
