The year is 3000.

Two years after a nuclear war between China and Russia devastates Earth, humanity is barely surviving. Cities lie in ruins, the sky is choked with ash, and only one billion people remain alive on a dying planet.

When NASA announces the discovery of a new habitable world called Maximus Prime, hope returns for the first time since the war. They promise salvation: the first 5,000 people to reach their international facility will receive one million dollars and a chance to leave Earth forever.

Michael Hill and his young daughter Mia join the desperate journey across a broken world, hoping to claim one of the few seats aboard humanity's last colony ship.

But former NASA scientist Dr. Scorpion knows the truth.

The war was never an accident.

Years earlier, NASA detected something enormous leaving a distant star system - something ancient, intelligent, and heading directly toward Earth.

As humanity races to escape extinction, the colony ship carrying the last survivors begins its long journey through deep space.
