Jona Thayer isn't a big name to anyone but his young sister. She has lofty dreams of figure skating success. After she convinces Jona to join her on the ice and one embarrassing fall later, she finally gets the chance to meet one of her icons, Cade Colt.

But wait, what is he doing at a small New Hampshire rink?

Truth is, Cade has been feeling a little worse-for-wear a long time now. Nearly three years of stagnant progress, along with a serious fear of failure has him hurdling towards an early retirement. Jona, meanwhile, is hurdling down another track - the long-track speed skating rink. Cade can't seem to keep his eye off Jona's carefree demeanor, and unrefined skill. Jona can't seem to help but take notice of someone like Cade Colt prancing around his local oval. When their lives begin to intertwine, an unlikely friendship forms - do they want to keep it that way?
