The Soldier Who Waited Forever

Jack McGray was a young soldier deeply in love with Gertrude Smith. Before he left to fight in the war, they married in a small ceremony, promising each other that no matter what happened, they would find their way back to each other.
While Jack is away fighting, Gertrude writes letters to him-letters full of hope, love, and dreams about the life they will build when the war ends.
But tragedy strikes before Jack can return home.
Gertrude dies during the war.
When Jack finally returns after the war, the woman he fought so hard to come back to is gone. The house they dreamed of building together never exists.
