Before the Story Begins......

Most big life decisions don't actually feel big in the moment.

They happen quietly.

Like saying YES to a college that's four hundred kilometres away from home.
Like packing your life into two suitcases and one bag full of snacks your mother insists you will "definitely need."
Like getting onto a train while your younger brothers argue about who gets your room once you leave.

And sometimes... they happen because "someone in a college office makes a small administrative mistake."

This story begins with one such mistake.

A room that was never meant to have an extra person.
A girl who desperately needed a place to stay.
And a boy who was absolutely not prepared for either.

When the door opened that evening, both of them stared at each other for a full five seconds.

Then said the same thing.

"TU?!"

Which, honestly, was a very reasonable reaction.
