After surviving a fight that should have killed her, Laura just wants life to feel normal again. But normal doesn't really exist when you live with a centuries-old ghost and a boyfriend who can turn into a crow.

Laura's magic proved strong enough to bend death itself, but power like that leaves echoes. Even though the witch Esther was defeated, the things she did inside Laura's mind haven't completely faded. Strange gaps in memory and the lingering feeling that something touched her magic make Laura wonder if the danger is truly over.

With Edwin-her sharp, complicated great-great uncle-and Monty, the boy who refuses to leave her side, Laura must learn how to live with the power inside her... and the shadows it left behind.
