You Never Know

My life was so serene. My days were filled with nothing but happiness. I was married to the love of my life and together we lived in a beautiful house in the suburbs where the mornings were calm and the evenings were warm. Our neighbours were friendly, the kind who waved from their gardens and invited us over for weekend barbecues. We were thinking about starting a family soon. Sometimes I wonder if it was all just a dream. Until that one morning when everything changed.

And just like that, my husband and the future I dreamed of were gone. I feel like I have nothing left to live for. The days grew longer and the nights became crueller. A strange feeling of uneasiness settles over me, and suddenly my own home no longer feels safe.

And then the gifts begin to arrive - each one more threatening than the last. It took an even darker turn when my next-door neighbour was brutally murdered.

I'm living in a nightmare now, and I can't seem to wake up. Doubt creeps in, and I begin to question my husband's death. It feels like someone is always watching me. And I can trust no one anymore.

The truth is, people have secrets, and everyone has a dark side. But mine hasn't seen the sun.
