"You haven't changed at all... always staring like you wanted to eat something-eat me."

Sterling and Lolade have been in love with each other for as long as they can remember.

They just don't know it.

So they are best friends.

Everyone else thinks they are best friends too.

Sterling learned sign language when they were children, just so Lolade-deaf, stubborn, and determined to live a normal life-would never feel alone.

The lingering touches did not mean anything.

Sleeping tangled together did not mean anything.

Lolade's jealousy did not mean anything.

Seeing Sterling naked did not mean anything.

Until one day...

it did.

But love between two boys was never going to be simple. Not in their world.

Separated by fear, shame, and expectations neither of them asked for, Sterling and Lolade are forced to confront feelings they spent years pretending were nothing.

Now they must decide what matters more:
the life they were told to live-

or the love that has always existed between them.
