When 18 year-old Ferris falls asleep one night with troubled thoughs, he wakes up to find himself in what seems to be another dream. But then, he realizes that his thoughts are not jumbled up and irrational, like one’s thoughts would be while dreaming. Everything around him is vivid, and his limbs are not moving of their own accord. As he wanders around, unsure, he comes across a gate that swings open as soon as he reaches out to touch it. Before him lies a world he has never seen before --- a world with no troubles or worries. A world where everything is perfect. The Gate of the In-Between --- the Betwixt Gate dividing reality and the Dreamworld --- swings shut behind him, as if sealing his fate. He finds all of his problems vanishing into thin air as he discovers new things and meets new friends--- one of whom is a happy-go-lucky girl with a neverending smile. But something is not quite right with the people in the Dreamworld. Slowly but surely, he begins to uncover the truth behind the dreamy delusions that lie beyond the Betwixt Gate, and the mystery that shrouds a young girl named Sarah.
