Lanterns and Shadows

In the late 1500s, when lantern-lit ships from Fujian sailed toward the newly conquered port of Manila, a daring half-Filipina, half-Chinese girl discovers a carved relic hidden in a shipwreck on the night of Chinese New Year. The strange markings point to a vanished trading voyage and to the secret past of her mother. Determined to uncover the truth, she journeys to the Philippines, only to clash with a cold, arrogant young man, the powerful son of a Spanish war general. Suspected of being a spy, she is forced into a tense rivalry with him, where suspicion turns into reluctant partnership, and enemies-to-lovers sparks ignite as they race to unravel the dangerous mystery behind the lost shipwreck.
