Boots, AKA Nate Brock, met up with Raven via dating app and neither wanted more than fun without strings. For Nate, he was fresh out of a relationship. To him it had been five years of lies and betrayal. In his mind the only good thing to com e from the relationship had been his two daughters, Natalie and Rose. Despite his daughters being his whole world, his ex had quickly moved on and got married to create the illusion into a stable home. Meanwhile, she had painted Nate as an unreliable parent using his work schedule and a history of poor choices in his youth to gain full custody of the girls.
His time with Raven revealed two things to Nate. One, Despite his reputation and behaviors from his teens and early twenties, he no longer wanted casual hookups. Two, Raven was meant to be his, and it terrified them both.
