Lydia Maybank, the less-wild sister of JJ Maybank, hasn't been the same since she saw JJ get a knife twisted in his abdomen. She's never seen him that bloody even with the regular abuse from Luke when he was in and out of prison cells. John b promised JJ that if something happened to JJ, he would protect his little sister for him. He did, any time he saw her not eating he did anything in his power to convince to eat- and not throw it up. He also noticed when her arms blistered and reddened from the sudden self-harm. The only way he could prevent her from continuing is by hiding away all sharp objects that could cut skin. Kiara hasn't been the same either, I mean she watched it happen and she held him in her arms for his last breath, 'I love you, Kie.' He said something that he wanted Kiara to tell Lydia. It always replayed in the back of her head every night since his death. He said, "tell Lyd I love her and I'm sorry" but what for? What was he sorry about..? Believing their 'father', not protecting Lydia from Luke? But then she knew what he meant. He meant for not being safe like she told him to be since Luke started lashing out and hitting them with anything that hurt. Rafe buried JJ's body, he knew where it was and it hurt. He hated all the pogues especially JJ but he couldn't stand to see such a wild boy no longer move. He had always had a smirk on his face but now for almost 3 weeks, he had his eyes shut and his mouth straight. Something you would never see on his face ever. Lydia had tried to recover but now they are at a funeral for JJ back at Outerbanks except they weren't done with Groff and they never will be.
