The Empire of Sanressia is rapidly approaching the end of one year of civil war. The chances of it ending soon are vanishingly low.

In the south, Grand Duke Cyrus, the Commander of the Army of Restoration, still reels from the defeat his forces suffered in the defence of Port Remembrance. While his armies are still determined and his supporters still loyal, the gulf between the strength of nephew and uncle grows starker every day.

In the north, the self-proclaimed Emperor Godfrey has triumphed over the traitorous General Theoderic, and now controls almost half of the Empire. As his armies march forth once more, this time against the Capital, it seems as though his ultimate victory is only a matter of time.

Yekaterina, the Crown Princess and acting ruler of the Kingdom of Mir finds herself caught at a crossroads. Before her stands the choice to secure independence for her homeland, or to commit herself wholeheartedly to deciding who will rule Sanressia.

With the legitimate Emperor, Friedrich, awakening months after being poisoned, and caught in the middle of the three forces, the battle for the future of the Empire has only become more complex. For peace to be restored, one of them must win.

But it may be that the Empire is past the point of being saved.
