When the lottery is drawn, Daytona's number is called.

At first he assumes he can simply fail and return home. Then the game runners announce a new rule for this year's competition: win or die. Daytona wants neither.

Now he must decide whether to surrender his life or fight to claim the Nexus and survive the games.

But everything becomes even more complicated when he meets another contestant named Sega. In a game where only one can claim victory, Daytona must decide whether to follow his head or his heart.
