What do you do when your secret crush isn't human?

Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn Lanski is tired of her boring, single life. Swimming and spending time with Tatiana, her best friend, are her only sanctuary. The girls plan to leave their drab lakeside town far behind for college, and Ash hopes to finally ditch her longtime crush for Finley, Tatiana's twin brother. But when Tatiana and her family fail to return home after a family emergency, Ashlyn makes an irrational decision to deal with her loss of them.

Finley Helton and his family are good at blending in with humans as they run their sailing charter business in Lake Tahoe. The truth is they guard an ancient secret. When a not so routine meeting forces Finley, Tatiana and their mother to return to their underwater home of Natatoria, they learn Fin's father will lead a dangerous mission. They must stay in Natatoria and wait for his return, but Fin can't stay caged up for long.

Secrets lurk beneath the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe, and a simple lifesaving kiss will change their lives forever.

🖤 "You will remember me," I utter, wrapping my hand tighter around the candle. "You will remember the woman who burned your world to ash. For I am a reckoning. I am vengeance. I am your demise. And no one, no man nor army shall stand in my way. Unless they also wish to burn." 🔥 🌺Corintha is an iron hearted young Mer living on Isla de las Madres, home to one of the great Mer pods of the Southern Seas. At seventeen summers, Corintha is now full grown in the eyes of her elders. Old enough to find a mate during the yearly mating season, when the young males return from exploring the world of man, far different than the calm tranquility of their island home. A land that haunts Corintha with the memories of loss, pain, and the fear that her future will be made for her. But her destiny will not be one where tradition will bind her and keep her bound to the island. Fate will pull her into the arms of Ares, the son of the pod's chief and a male that will have Corintha questioning her innermost desires. However, he will not win her heart without a fight and surviving the endless dangers that lie ahead for him, Corintha, and their motley crew of chaotic companions. The hands of fate will lead the young Mer on a journey they never thought possible. Faced with rival Mer from the North, pirates that hold deadly knowledge, and navigating the world of man without revealing their inhuman nature. These trials will test them, break them, and bring about a new story, a new legend for the travelers of land and sea. A villain with a thirst for blood. A creature of nightmarish myth. A monster to be feared. A title that Corintha will learn to bare with pride. 🦚 Trigger warning ⚠️- this book contains scenes of gore, violence, abuse, assault, and sexual situations.

Over the next few weeks I will be going through it to fix typos and grammatical errors but otherwise this story is complete! Enjoy! Sirena Brinn is just your average 18 year old... Well, aside from the fact that she can breath underwater. After moving back to her childhood home of Glasspoint, Florida Sirena's entire reality is changed when she learns that merpeople exist, and that she could even be one herself. Eventually, she finds herself in the company of Calder, a mysterious merman who seems to know a little too much about her, and Darrien a handsome merprince who puts the fate of his kingdom in her hands. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ It took all of me not scream at the sight before me. Calder was standing in my bedroom, stark naked. "Oh my god!" I cried, shielding my eyes. I leapt from under my covers and ran into the bathroom. I snatched a towel off the rack and flung it at Calder. So clearly last night wasn't a dream. "What the hell?" I hissed as he wrapped the towel around his waist. "How did you get in here?" "I climbed up from the balcony." He replied casually. "You're insane." "Well if you hadn't run off last night and just let me explain, I wouldn't be standing here right now." He said coldly. "Oh it's my fault? Okay. Well can you really blame me?" I exclaimed angrily. I was pissed that he was pissed at me. "Up until last night, I didn't even think mermaids existed, and then you tell me that I am one!" "Well excuse me for trying to give you some background information about yourself." He scoffed. Sylvia Okenji expected her final year of school to go like any other; surviving her classes, making memories with her friends, and not ripping her tangled hair out from stress over exams. But when her eighteenth birthday ends with Sylvia disappearing for two days without explanation, she is grounded for the rest of the year, unable to go back to the place she fled to; Siren Bay. Only weeks away from her deadline, the temptation becomes too much. In the height of Australian summer, she had to go back to the alcove around the cliff's edge, where she discovered there was more to life than school, textbooks, and its exams.
