A young inventor named Charlie cursed with a chronic skin disease is hidden away by his father in the secluded mountains of Seattle in the year of 2030. There his father tells him of the horrors of the outside world and how cruel people can be. But after escaping into the city, Charlie befriends a girl who sees him for more than just what society has called "undesirable". Together, they enter the world of dreams and discover what it truly means to be loved. Little do they know that a disaster all too real is awaiting them when they awake.
