Chimali never asked for a perfect life. She only wanted enough. Enough to keep food on the table, enough to make sure her little sister could stay in school, enough to survive another month without the fear of being thrown out.
After losing their parents, she became everything at once: sister, provider, and protector. Life has been a long stretch of bad jobs, broken promises, and prayers whispered into the dark.
So when a live-in caregiver job opens up in a wealthy GRA mansion, she grabs it without asking too many questions.
Then she meets the patient. Jidenna.
