24-year-old Erika Müller, having grown up in Freiburg, now finds herself in Berlin, navigating the dangerous and complex web of the Reich. The city, with its politics, surveillance, and shifting loyalties, forces her to adapt in ways she never imagined.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Wilhelm Bauer is sent to fight a second Front, far from the life he once knew. As he confronts the harsh realities of a wintry war, his memories of Freiburg and Erika haunt him, shaping his decisions and his inner struggles.

The story follows the young couple as they navigate their path in a collapsing world which will question everything they have ever known, with dark secrets, sacrifice and betrayal at every turn.
