Chapter 1 - A Chance Meeting (Enhanced Version)
The Lagos sun dipped behind the skyscrapers, painting the city in golden hues. Amara clutched her worn-out bag tightly, her heart racing. Today was her first day at Stellar University, and the campus buzzed with students in designer outfits, their laughter echoing like music she couldn't reach.
She tugged at her simple dress nervously. "I hope I don't embarrass myself," she whispered.
Across the campus, Adrian Okoye, the young billionaire heir with a reputation that made everyone whisper, leaned casually against his sleek black car. The tailored suit on his broad shoulders made him look untouchable. Usually, he ignored ordinary people, but something about a trembling girl with determined eyes made him look twice.
Amara spun around, trying to find her classroom, and nearly collided with him.
"Careful," Adrian said, his deep voice calm but commanding. "You'll hurt yourself walking like that."
Amara froze. "I... I'm sorry. I'm new here. I don't know my way around."
He smirked faintly, the kind that could make anyone's stomach flutter. "Let me help. I know this place like the back of my hand."
As they walked, Amara noticed how students stepped aside for him, whispering his name with awe. And yet, he was talking to her as if she were the only person in the world.
"Why are you helping me?" she asked, a hint of suspicion in her voice.
"Maybe I like helping people," he replied smoothly, eyes locking with hers for a heartbeat that felt too long.
Amara's cheeks burned. She looked down at her shoes, then back at him. "You... you don't even know me."
Adrian shrugged. "Maybe I like the mystery."
For a moment, silence wrapped around them. The city noise faded, replaced by an unspoken connection neither wanted to break.
Amara wanted to run, but something told her she couldn't.
Little did she know, this chance meeting would change everything-her world, his world... and the worlds of everyone around them.
