This story is set in the fourteen-year gap between the first and second Avatar films. In the first chapter, Jake Sully, newly appointed leader of the Omatikaya, is tasked with finding a new home for his clan. In the first Avatar film, the clan's Home Tree was destroyed. He and his mate, Neytiri, scour the area for a suitable place.
