Our Promise Across Universes

It started with two losers in a school hallway.
Hazel, 15 yo gothic girl with cyan hair . Blade, 17 yo alt girl. Invisible. Forgettable. Nothing special.

Until they found each other.

They became everything to one another. Started a band. Made stupid, impossible promises about being together in every universe like nothing could ever break them.

But something always does.

Hazel catches Blade cheating. Just like that-everything burns. Trust, love, whatever they had... gone. And yet, somehow, they stay. Because letting go hurts more than staying broken.

Then comes their one chance-the Battle of the Bands. The moment that was supposed to change everything.

The night before, they fall asleep next to each other like nothing's wrong.
The morning after? Blade isn't the same.

Five minutes before they go on stage-
she disappears.

No goodbye. No explanation. Just gone.

Hazel loses. Not just the competition. Everything.

So she goes back to the only place that ever felt real-their field. And for one second, she sees Blade again. Different. Wrong. Like she doesn't belong in this world anymore.

Or maybe she was never there at all.

Hazel keeps singing. Alone this time. Always alone.
She swears she sees Blade in the crowd sometimes. Smiling. Watching. Like nothing ever happened.

But she never wins. Not really.

Years pass. Hazel grows up. Gets married. Lives a life she hates. A life that doesn't feel like hers.
