Five knives it took to kill Jon Snow. But will five be enough to stop what rises from the flames? Death has changed him, tempered by truth and driven by a fierce need to protect. The boy who was Lord Commander is gone. What returns is something more. Reborn in smoke and fire, Jon does not rise alone. Beside him stands Shireen Baratheon, and with their awakening, dragons return to Westeros. Beyond the Wall, the Others march, bringing the long night with them. In the Riverlands, vengeance stirs. In the South, kings and queens clash for a fragile crown, unaware that the sky itself will soon belong to legends once more. And across the Narrow Sea, another dragon and a wolf yearn for home and for the family they have lost. Fire has returned. So has ice. And the world will not survive unchanged.

When Jon Snow is betrayed by his sworn brothers and left to die in the snow at Castle Black, it is not the end of his tale, but the beginning of another. In death, he is called beyond the veil to a place of shadow and stone, where the blood of dragons speaks and the truth is revealed. He is not the bastard of Winterfell, but Orys Targaryen, son of Rhaegar and Lyanna, rightful head of house Targaryen and prophecy. There, he hears of the prince that was promised, and of a dream his father had of a dragon has three heads. He returns to life in smoke and flame, reborn not alone but beside Shireen Baratheon, and with them from the ashes, dragons return to Westeros. North of the Wall, war approaches, and the Others march. In the Riverlands, vengeance stirs. In the South, crowns battle for control, and they will tremble as legends return to the sky. And across the seas, another dragon and a wolf long for home and family. Jon will be accompanied by two possible surviving dragons from the dance : Silverwing and the Cannibal
