Charlotte "Lottie" Evans remembers Outbreak Day clearly, she doubts that she'll ever forget it. She remembers everything in excruciating detail. She remembers the chaos, as signs slowly revealed that something was terribly wrong. She remembers the fear, as she first encountered a Walker. She remembers her Dad, who drove all the way from Birmingham, Alabama to see his babygirl off to med school. All of it, it haunts her dreams. She remembers the bittersweet meeting of her best friends Carlos and Ximena and how that day will forever complicate their relationships. One day, however, Lottie meets a boy, who shares in the same pains as her. A man, who despite sharing the same pains, reacts completely differently and refuses to allow these troubles to shape him. Lottie wonders if she can ever be like that.
