I had to run; the building was collapsing on our heads. Once I was 'safe' outside on a nearish hill I turned back and whispered "I will make sure you have not died in vain, Jayya. This I swear on the blood that binds me, the sweat that drains me and the wind that carries me. THIS I SWEAR!!!!"

I slowly sit up staring at the figures in front of me who were crying tears of joy. I sit there silently still a little dizzy from my soul returning back to my body. Inuyasha grips me tightly. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" I suppose I'll never know why he didn't follow me. It was the thing I feared most. I knew that if he came for me a second time, I wouldn't be able to say 'no'. I wouldn't be able to run. But I had to. I had to go. I couldn't let him be hurt because of me. He would live on now, and I would marry another.
