Moldova

So basically, Saveta is a young adult in southern Ukraine and this is right after WW2 has ended and everyone is kinda trying to recover from it. Saveta and her family are living with her lowkey toxic grandfather and working for him in his tobacco feilds. Saveta's mom ends up ill so the local doctor starts to make frequent house visits to treat her and soon brings a young American man with him as his apprentice studying under him. He becomes invested in Saveta's mom's illness and eventually grows closer to Saveta as he comes to realize her family dynamic is nothing he's ever seen in the America's. The apprentice starts to study her moms illness closer, taking Saveta with him in his studies, which begins to disturb the family image.
