Seventeen-year-old Nora isn’t one for celebrations, but her family is. It's Fourth of July and they have been invited to an old friend’s fancy picnic party. Even if she doesn’t want to, Nora agrees to go, hoping to hide behind a tree with a book all night.

Just when she realizes her plan is failing, a frantic and handsome boy asks for her help. He needs apple pies and she wants to leave the party. Together, they embark on a journey through the city on a mission that seems just as impossible as trying to buy turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

Get ready for a hot summer night filled with tons of BBQ, historic figures, watermelon eating contests, headaches, fireworks, romance and apple pies.

We always wanted what we couldn't have. "Tell me you didn't feel anything," he pleaded. It was as if he was begging not to feel anything. How could I not feel anything towards him? "Truth or Lie," I whispered afraid to open my eyes. ------------------------------ (COMPLETED) There were rules. Well, just one really. Kennedy Parker was off-limits to her and her twin brother Liam's friends. Still she can't help but feel something for the boy next door Cal McCormick. Who just so happens to be her brother's best friend. Something happened over the summer that changed the way Cal sees Kennedy too. It's Junior year. All Kennedy wants to do is continue to be the best swim team captain, stay top of her class, and maintain a social life. Will the boy next door and her looming past be distractions? Can they keep their feelings at bay or will they sink into the deep end?
