A slow-burn story set during Season 1 of The Rookie.
Rookie officer Lucy Chen becomes a police officer for a fresh new start after having a brutal breakup with her five year old son, Dylan, father.
Meanwhile her assigned training officer, Tim Bradford is dealing with problems of his own with his, Isabel, and raising his six year old daughter, Evelyn.
Things between Lucy and Tim starts to get complicated when they find out their children are in the same class and become close friends.

This story is vaugly based off of Billie Eilish's song, Blue, from the part where it goes 'you were born bluer than a butterfly, beautiful and so deprived of oxygen' This story is my own original idea, only Lucy and her parents are canon, and maybe I'll bring in Jackson and John later, idk, other than that, the characters are my own.
