Anastasia Solovyova has, for the most part, lived comfortably amongst the aristocracy. Whilst she's lived with her mother in Russia for most of her life, her father, Nikolai, resided in New York City in the United States, working as a successful politician, and has done for the last 7 years.
However, after taking a gap year, she found that her father wanted her to follow in his footsteps and study law in America.
Three years later, she's now in her final year, and her father is now running for governor of the city. Usually, despite her chosen course, her father tends to keep her away from the inner politics, only allowing her to see the surface of his schemes.
She tends to only see the tip of the iceberg, rarely attending esteemed social events, and avoiding mingling with other members of high society.
It's only at one of these events which she meets Cruz DeLuca, and realises that in this hierarchy of the upper class, her family's only a group of puppets, subject to the will of the billionaires and corporations of the aristocracy.
Contrary to the superficial facade of most public figures, he tends to be arrogant, and selfish, using manipulative rhetoric to make people abide to his own wants and needs. This attitude allows Ana to see the reality of the upper echelons of society, and how wolves reside amongst each other, dressed in sheep's clothing.
The pair instantly loathe each other, hostility present in their every interaction, making both of their lives a living hell. However, in the process, their hells intertwine. Will their hatred turn into something else? Or will it prove to destroy them both?
Quick disclaimer: I've seen an uprising in AI stories and wanted to make it clear that this isn't one of them xx
I'm completely against AI and the effects it has on our planet, and also in taking over arts such as literature. I will not enforce my opinion on other people but this is just my opinion ❤️
