**This is just a rough draft and a work in progress. I would love any reviews, criticism, or words of advice.** Seneca Dowers has heard voices her entire life. She has been haunted by images of winged creatures who threaten to take her away and scarred beings who desire nothing more than to sacrifice her. She has also been able to force thoughts upon others and cause them to do what she wants. She has no explanation for this and it scares her tremendously. It also scared her adoptive parents enough to send her to a mental institution at the young age of five. Raised in St. Dymphna's Home for Hope, Seneca has learned how to use her strange gifts to her advantage. With her best friend, Olivia, by her side, her life is not nearly as bad as it could be living in a mental institution. Until two strangers push themselves into her life and threaten to tear down her remaining walls of sanity. With outrages claims about her not being human and a war that may soon break out over her, Seneca must make the choice between love and life.

Linnea has been wanting to die ever since her family was in a car crash. She was the only survivor and she's been riddled with guilt since that day because she was driving the car. Her guardian, Thibault, has been telling her how worthless she is and how she'll never be wanted ever since he had to take her under his wing. She started to believe it, so she hardened her heart. She's terrified that someone will leave her because they don't want her. She doesn't let anyone see her real emotions and doesn't let anyone in her heart. Then along comes Lorenzo. He tears down her walls and helps her from Thibault, but she's scared he'll leave her. So she pushes him away, not knowing that their lives are so much more connected than she thought. A/N-I marked this as mature because there are some pretty graphic scenes and it deals with self-harm/suicide.
