The Way We Are

It begins with a day that didn't feel important at all. No big plans, just time to waste and a screen to scroll through. One profile stands out for no special reason. One letter gets sent with more hesitation than confidence, and that should've been the end of it.

But it isn't.

A reply comes back, and somehow that small, moment refuses to stay small. Things that were supposed to be simple slowly turn complicated in ways that don't make sense even while they're happening.

There's nothing perfect about it. It's a little messy, a little confusing, sometimes funny in the most unexpected ways, and sometimes frustrating for no clear reason.

At the center of it all is something that doesn't really have a clear name at first.

And the worst part is, once it starts, you can't really pretend it didn't happen.
