Elena has done everything right. In her early twenties, she has rebuilt her life from the shadows of a past she refuses to revisit. She's thriving in law school, balancing a steady job, and in a relationship that looks perfect, at least from the outside. On paper, she finally has the peace she fought so hard for. And yet, something is missing. Her life is calm now. Predictable. Safe in a way it never used to be. But no one truly sees her, not the way she longs to be understood. So she moves forward, telling herself this is what happiness is supposed to feel like. Until she meets him. Landon doesn't just look at Elena. He sees her. In the smallest moments, in the silence between words, he understands the parts of her she's never been able to explain. And for him, she's just as dangerous. In a life that feels heavy and complicated, Elena is a breath of fresh air, something freeing, something he didn't know he was missing. He calls her his angel. But angels don't stay. Because he's not free. He belongs to a life he can't easily leave. And she's holding onto one she worked too hard to build. What exists between them is undeniable, quiet, intense, and impossible to ignore. But some connections aren't meant to happen at the right time. And some people come into your life... only to remain in the spaces you can't quite let go of- in memories, in silence... in dreams that feel just a little too real.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." A"No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
