It's January 1995, 20 year old Alivia has just dropped out of her college from a course of fashion design to focus on her music, living within the 810 in Detroit, Alivia is currently living with her mum, constantly trying to save up and get studio time.
Her best friend Nia is also one of her main supporters, having been friends since they were little, growing up in the houses next door, they comfort in each other and confide with each other all the time. Nia has always found it easy to find love and Alivia is slightly jealous, but isn't exactly looking for love.
Little did she know just a few blocks down a white boy with an ambitious love for black hip hop music would step into her life, when she decides to visit the hip hop shop down the road in 313. When their paths finally cross, a flame is ignited to carry them through.
