Half Vampire and Half Human, Liam Hood had always worried about how others saw him and his twin, the perfectionist in them not wanting to see their flaws and how they differed from normal society - human or vampire.

After going through a tragic event when he was younger this sense of not belonging only got worse for him.

Laren Wood knew to leave Liam alone - there was a calm that blanketed Liam when he tripped back into his thoughts, reliving a past Laren has pushed to the darkest place of his mind. But he sees how the stillness no longer holds as strongly as it used to, how the night terrors carry on later into the break of morning.

As a gentle and compassionate person, Scarlett has started working in the medical field where she plans her future to look after people and give them a head start in their lives if possible. She doesn't expect this choice of career to lead her to meet someone as warm and loyal as Laren Wood and especially didn't expect his twin to be someone she'd be able to relate to so strongly.
