Clark and Lex have the same problem, they're desperate for something just out of reach. For Lex is something money can't buy. For Clark it's something family and friends can't provide. But when they're together, that pain eases.
This is a Clark and Lex fanfic based on Smallville, in light of the first 3 seasons (I haven't watched the other seasons, so I don't know where Clark and Lex's dynamic takes them within this series, only that they become enemies). I just started watching this now in 2026! I start here approximately where they were at in those first few seasons, of knowing each other.
