Wilson Floris - Had an alcoholic father who got divorced by his wife when his son was two and got full custody. He wasn't a good father, and his son, Wilson, was in foster care until seven, then his father took him back after being sober for a month then became a raging alcoholic, beating him as a child, eventually after another seven years, he drank himself to death, barely eating, Wilson was put in foster care and was abused there, bullied, became an absolute bitch and never got adopted, he ran away at sixteen and managed to get jobs off and on and crashing on random couches, made a few friends but lost them in the end because he started drinking at eighteen. He was twenty-five now and was working at a restuarant for three years after getting sober, but after being fired, constantly used and drained at his job, months behind on rent he became an alcoholic once more

Fritz Pierce - He had grown up wealthy and into a catholic family. His mother had passed away from cancer, and he never knew who his father was. He was twelve and took it shockingly well, prayed for her and kept photos of her in his room. His aunt got custody over him and he knew her as his other mother ever since. As he got older he opened up a church where he had slowly become a pastor there, he was only nineteen when he had opened it, but as the years went by and more people joined the happier he got. They held lots of events. During the week he worked at his uncle in laws buisness, which was just something for case managers. He was happy where he was, and he wouldn't change a single thing.
During this book, Fritz and Pierce grow a romance after he stumbles drunk to the church doors and passes out in their booth.
